What do you want to trade?
We only match you with firms that offer it.
How the matching works
Every plan, scored
Each answer is a test. A plan scores for your platform, account size, budget and type of evaluation, and extra for what matters most to you.
Two firms, not one
You get the best plan from two different firms, so you always have a real alternative to compare before you buy.
Honest trade-offs
If nothing fits every answer, we show the closest plans and mark exactly where they miss. Every match names one rule to watch.
How to choose a prop firm challenge
The right challenge depends less on which firm is “best” and more on how you trade. These are the six things the quiz asks about, and why each one matters before you pay a challenge fee.
- 1
Pick your market first
Futures firms trade exchange contracts such as ES and NQ and usually set loss limits in dollars. Forex and CFD firms trade currency pairs, indices and metals and usually set them as a percentage of the account. Most firms specialize, so this narrows the list fastest.
- 2
Trade on a platform you already know
Learning new software mid-evaluation adds mistakes you do not need. Futures firms mostly run on NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Rithmic or TradingView; forex firms on MT5, cTrader or Match Trader. See the firms that support TradingView or MT5.
- 3
Choose an account size you can trade calmly
A bigger account costs more and raises the maximum loss with it. Size your trades to the loss limit, not the balance: a $50K account with a $2,000 limit gives you $2,000 of room. The position size calculator does the math for each firm.
- 4
Budget for the real cost
Compare prices after the discount code, then allow for a retake, since many traders need more than one attempt. Check for an activation fee when you pass, and for firms that bill monthly until you do. Every live code is on the offers page, and the cheapest challenges are ranked here.
- 5
Decide how you want to get funded
A 1-step challenge has one profit target. A 2-step challenge splits it into two phases and often allows a larger loss limit. Instant funding skips the evaluation, but usually costs more and often has tighter limits. Compare 1-step, 2-step and instant firms.
- 6
Read the rules that end accounts
An account fails the moment it breaks a rule, so check the daily loss limit, whether the drawdown trails your profits or is static, any consistency rule and news trading restrictions. The drawdown visualizer shows how each drawdown type moves with your trades.
Then compare any two firms side by side, or let the quiz shortlist them for you.
Prop firm quiz FAQs
How does the prop firm quiz work?
You answer six questions about your market, platform, account size, budget, type of evaluation and what matters most to you. We score every listed plan against your answers and show the best plan from two different firms, with the reasons it fits and one rule to watch.
Which prop firm is best for beginners?
There is no single best firm. Beginners usually do better with a challenge they can afford to retake, a platform they already know and loss limits they understand. Choose "Lowest price" or "Most room for drawdown" in the quiz to rank your matches that way.
Are the prices up to date?
Prices come from the plans we list and include our discount codes where a code applies. Firms change prices and rules often, so confirm the final price and the rules on the firm's site before you buy.
Is the quiz free, and do I need an account?
It is free and there is no sign-up. You can copy a link to your results to share them or come back to them later.
Is this financial advice?
No. The quiz matches the preferences you give to the plans we list. It does not judge whether you will pass, and trading carries a high risk of loss.
