Quantower

Prop Firm Trader research desk

Quantower is a Windows-only desktop trading platform built for futures traders, featuring advanced charting, a Depth of Market (DOM) ladder with heatmap visualization, volume profile overlays, and footprint (cluster) charts for order flow analysis. Prop firms that support Rithmic as a broker often let funded traders connect to Quantower as an alternative to NinjaTrader or Tradovate.

Why it matters

Platform access is tied directly to which data feed a trader purchased. At firms like Tradeify, Quantower connects using Rithmic credentials only, so an account bought with Tradovate or WealthCharts cannot log in. Other firms route Quantower through dxFeed instead, so the required feed varies by firm and traders should confirm before assuming compatibility. For traders who rely on order flow (cumulative delta, imbalances, footprint clusters), Quantower offers a depth of market view that standard candlestick-only platforms don't provide.

Live data

Example

A funded futures trader opens a footprint chart in Quantower at a key support level. They check cumulative delta for divergence and scan the buy/sell imbalance column for stacked aggression on the bid. Satisfied the level is holding, they use the DOM's one-click order entry to enter the trade directly from the price ladder, rather than switching to a separate order ticket.

Common misconception

Traders often assume their prop firm provides technical support for Quantower itself. It doesn't: Quantower is third-party software, so firms handle account and billing questions only, while platform bugs, UI problems, and feature requests go through Quantower's own support channels. A second common error is assuming Quantower works with any broker or feed. Depending on the firm, it may require specific Rithmic or dxFeed credentials, and an account purchased under the wrong feed simply won't connect, regardless of platform settings.
